Olakino
"Olakino" is the Hawaiian word used for care, health and all things necessary for life.
A Bespoke Care and Exercise Service

Exceptional healthcare support to enable older adults to remain independent in their own homes with a can do attitude. It is also an ideal service for those returning home after a hospital stay.

Olakino blends general care duties with a tailored exercise program by a Clinical Exercise Specialist. Both aspects of the service are provided by the same Exercise Specialist.

The evidence based Exercise Prescription will adhere to medical guidelines. It will enable older and clinically vulnerable adults to continue with every day activities such as getting out of a chair, reaching up or down to a shelf with confidence, coping strategies in the event of a fall.

If the client has a chronic condition ie Parkinson’s, MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis, is chair bound etc the prescription will be tailored to their clinical needs to support them remaining at home. A number of our Exercise Specialists are trained in dementia and nutrition for dementia .

Clients are supported with general personal care, shopping, washing and cleaning.

All clients have a face to face consultation to identify and address their care and physical needs. Functional assessments are carried out at the first meeting including blood pressure monitoring. These measurements are reviewed quarterly to monitor and assess progress,  collated in a short report and shared with the client. However, the length of the service can be tailored to meet your needs.

The Olakino Service mission is to enrich the lives of our clients through an exceptional health and wellbeing service promoting physical and mental independence.
